Biomass growth in continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR), a "chemostat" bioreactor
This is a simplified model of microbial growth kinetics. For examples, see
Balakrishnan and Yang (2002)

Wu and Chang (2007).
The reactor volume is fixed at 1 m3.
Biomass growth rate = (μm * substrate conc / (ks + substrate conc)) * biomass conc
Yield coefficient = (α + β * substrate conc)γ
Substrate consumption rate = Biomass growth rate / Yield coefficient
